Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, Dr. Hughes is currently accepting new patients.
What is contemporary dentistry?
In summary, contemporary dentistry is what we strive to deliver at Ashford Pointe Dental. In our practice, this means keeping up to date with the latest research, technology, and innovations in dentistry. It also means delivering that care in a setting where our relationship with you is paramount.
Do you offer cosmetic dentistry?
Yes! But, each patient’s needs are unique. For some patients, cosmetic dentistry may only involve simple teeth whitening. For others, it may mean a complete smile makeover. Our dentists can share examples of all our cosmetic treatment results with you —you can also see a sampling here. Once you review our samples, feel free to call for an appointment so we can discuss your options.
How can I make my smile brighter?
We offer custom-made take-home trays with professional teeth whitening gel for safe and effective whitening in the comfort of your own home. Home whitening yields excellent results —up to eight shades lighter or higher! Two weeks of use produces optimal results, but if your teeth reach the desired shade before then, simply discontinue treatment.
I have old, dark fillings. Is there any hope for my smile?
Dark fillings and metal crowns can be replaced with strong, aesthetic restorations. Dr. Hughes can place composite resin fillings and porcelain crowns.
What is a dental implant and how long do they last?
Dental implants are a safe alternative to bridges, partials, and full dentures. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth because of a titanium anchor attached to the jawbone. Once the implants are secured, Dr. Hughes can attach a handcrafted, permanent crown, or multiple-tooth prosthetic, to each post. The restorations will match your natural teeth and blend seamlessly with your smile. The life of the implant depends on your age, oral health status, and personal hygiene. With proper maintenance, they can easily last a lifetime.
What is a digital x-ray, and how is it different from traditional x-rays?
When compared to traditional radiography, digital x-rays emit 90% less radiation. Detailed images are immediately available for view on a chair side monitor in our treatment room. We can transfer digital x-rays and photographs quickly to insurance companies and specialists, as well. Digital x-rays require no hazardous developing chemicals, so they’re earth-friendly, too!
Do the results from Invisalign last as long as traditional braces?
Invisalign is not ideal for all patients and it is a case by case determinant. A thorough exam involving radiographs and scans by Dr. Hughes is required to determine candidacy.
